The Road Traffic (NHS Charges) Act 1999

Section 12: Use of information held by the Secretary of State

This section allows information obtained for the NHS charges scheme to be used for the purposes of the benefit recovery scheme and vice versa. This provision will provide maximum flexibility for both the government and the insurance industry so that, for example, in the cases involving both NHS and benefit recovery CRU can seek and rely on a single set of information for both purposes.
