Football (Offences and Disorder) Act 1999

Section 9: Indecent or racialist chanting

22.This section amends the offence of indecent or racialist chanting at designated football matches which is contained in section 3 of the 1991 Act.  The effect of the amendment is that the offence can be committed by an individual who engages in such chanting on his own.  At present the offence is only committed if a person takes part in such chanting with others.
