6The counties in Wales for the purposes of this Act are the preserved counties, that is to say, the counties in Wales as they stood immediately before the passing of the M1Local Government (Wales) Act 1994 (but subject to any redrawing of their boundaries by or under that Act or the M2Local Government Act 1972).E+W+S
