1994 CHAPTER 5

An Act to amend Schedule 9 to the New Towns Act 1981.

[24th March 1994]

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Delegation of powers.E+W

In Schedule 9 to the M1New Towns Act 1981 (which makes provision as to the Commission for the New Towns)—

(a)in paragraph 5(2) (quorum etc. of committees)—

(i)for “committee set up under paragraph 3 above” there shall be substituted “ committee or sub-committee of the Commission ”, and

(ii)after “the committee” in each place there shall be inserted “ or sub-committee ”,

(b)in paragraph 5(3) (validity of proceedings) for “such a committee” there shall be substituted “ a committee or sub-committee of the Commission ”, and

(c)there shall be added at the end—

8 Delegation of powers

Anything authorised or required to be done by the Commission under this Act, or any other enactment—

(a)may be done by any member of the Commission, or of its staff, who has been authorised for the purpose, whether generally or specially, by the Commission, or

(b)may be done by any committee or sub-committee of the Commission which has been so authorised.
