14E+W+SIn section 6(1)(a) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981 (certificates of fitness etc), for the words “a certifying officer” there shall be substituted the words “ an examiner appointed under section 66A of the Road Traffic Act 1988 ”.

16(1)Section 51 of that Act (appeals to Secretary of State) shall be amended as follows.E+W+S
(2)In subsection (1) for the words “a certifying officer” there shall be substituted the words “ an examiner ”.
(3)In subsection (4) for the words “the certifying officer” in each place where they occur there shall be substituted the words “ the examiner ”.
