(1)In subsection (1) of section 41 of the M1Marriage Act 1949 the word “separate” is hereby repealed and for subsection (7) of that section there shall be substituted—
“(7)A building may be registered for the solemnization of marriages under this section whether it is a separate building or forms part of another building.”
(2)In consequence of subsection (1) above—
(a)in the M2Sharing of Church Buildings Act 1969, in section 6(4)(a) the words “other than paragraph 1 thereof” and paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 are hereby repealed; and
(b)in paragraph 2 of that Schedule for the words “the said section 41” there shall be substituted the words “ section 41 of the Marriage Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”)” .
