3 Power to amend designation order relating to continental shelf between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. E+W+S+N.I.

(1) This section applies in relation to the agreement made between Her Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom and the Government of the Republic of Ireland as to the respective rights of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland in relation to the continental shelf adjacent to the two countries and signed at Dublin on behalf of those Governments on 7th November 1988.

(2) Her Majesty may, by Order in Council, make such provision amending [F1 the Continental Shelf (Designation of Additional Areas) Order 1971 and] the M1 Continental Shelf (Designation of Additional Areas) Order 1974 made under section 1(7) of the M2 Continental Shelf Act 1964 (designating [F2 areas] to the west of Scotland) as appears to Her to be necessary to give effect to the said Agreement.
