7 (1) If an article of cultural or historical importance or interest cannot lawfully be exported from the United Kingdom unless a copy of it is made and deposited in an appropriate library or archive, it is not an infringement of any right conferred by [F1 this Chapter] to make that copy. U.K.

(2) Expressions used in this paragraph have the same meaning as in section 44.
