In section 1(1) of the M1Protection of Animals Act 1911 (offences of cruelty to animals), for the words from “shall be liable” onwards substitute “ shall be liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale, or both ”.
