Section 33 of the 1979 Act (designation of areas of archaeological importance) shall be amended as follows.

At the end of subsection (1) there shall be inserted " ; but, where the area in question is situated in England, he shall consult with the Commission before doing so. "

At the end of subsection (2) there shall be inserted but, where the area in question is situated in England, the authority shall first notify the Commission of their intention to do so."
