(1)This Act may be cited as the Rentcharges Act 1977.
(2)The following provisions shall come into force on the expiry of the period of one month beginning with the date on which this Act is passed:—
(a)sections 1 to 3 ;
(b)sections 12 to 15, in section 17, subsection (1) (so far as it relates to paragraph 2 of Schedule 1), subsection (2) (except as it applies to the entries in Schedule 2 relating to section 10 of the [1854 c. 97.] Inclosure Act 1854 and section 191 of the [1925 c. 20.] Law of Property Act 1925) and subsections (3) and (6), and this section ;
and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force on such day as the Secretary of State may by order appoint.
(3)This Act does not extend to Scotland or Northern Ireland.
