An Act to extend the Hearing Aid Council Act 1968 to Northern Ireland.
[3rd July 1975]
(1)The M1Hearing Aid Council Act 1968 shall, subject to subsection (2) below, extend to Northern Ireland.
(2)In its application to Northern Ireland, the said Act shall have effect subject to the following modifications:—
(a)for any reference to the commencement of that Act there shall be substituted a reference to the commencement of this Act;
(b)for the reference in section 9(1) to the High Court there shall be substituted a reference to a judge of the Supreme Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland;
(c)in section 10(1) after the word “Wales” there shall be inserted the words “or Northern Ireland”; and
(d)in section 10(2) for the references to section 49 of the M2Supreme Court of Judicature (Consolidation) Act 1925 and the High Court there shall be substituted references to the M3Attendance of Witnesses Act 1854 and the Supreme Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland, respectively.
(3)Any rules—
(a)which have been made, or approved, under the said Act by the Lord Chancellor; and
(b)which are in force immediately before the commencement of this Act,
shall, unless they otherwise expressly provide, extend to Northern Ireland.

(1)This Act may be cited as the Hearing Aid Council (Extension) Act 1975.
(2)This Act shall come into operation on such day as the Secretary of State may by order made by statutory instrument appoint.
(3)In section 15(2) of the M4Hearing Aid Council Act 1968 (Act not to extend to Northern Ireland) the word “not”is hereby repealed.
(4)This Act extends to Northern Ireland.
