1In section 84(4) (cases where a person who is entitled to obtain, and has applied for, a driving licence may lawfully drive or be employed to drive a motor vehicle) for the words " for which it fell to be granted " there shall be substituted the words " of one year or such shorter period as may be prescribed, beginning on the date of the application or, as the case may be, the revocation or surrender mentioned in paragraph (b) above ".
