The enactments specified in Schedule 1 to this Act shall have effect subject to the amendments there specified, being amendments consequential on the provisions of this Act.

The foregoing provisions of this section are without prejudice to F4sections 16(1) and 17(2)(a) of the M1Interpretation Act 1978 (effect of repeals).

This Act may be cited as the Insurance Companies Act 1974.

Subject to section 89 above, this Act shall come into operation at the expiration of the period of one month beginning with the date on which it is passed.
