An Act to amend the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967.

Be it enactedby the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
At the end of section 16(2) of the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967 (which makes certain exemptions in respect of the closed season for the sale of oysters) there shall be added the following— “", or
(e)were Pacific or Japanese oysters (Crassostrea gigas), Portuguese oysters (Crassostrea angulatd) or other members of the genus Crassostrea”.
(1)This Act may be cited as the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1973; and this Act and the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967 may be cited together as the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Acts 1967 and 1973.
(2)This Act shall come into force on 1st May 1974.
(3)This Act shall not extend to Northern Ireland.
