Ministers of the Crown (Parliamentary Secretaries) Act 1960

Section 4.

FIRST SCHEDULEConsequential Amendment of Enactments

The Board of Agriculture Act, 1889.

In section five, in subsection (2), for the words from " to the secretary" to " servants " there shall be substituted the words " to the secretaries (other than any Parliamentary Secretary) and to the officers and servants ".

The Board of Agriculture and Fisheries Act, 1909.

In section one, after the word " two " there shall be inserted the words " or more " and the word " second " shall be omitted.

The New Ministries and Secretaries Act, 1916.

In section ten, in subsection (2), for the words from " to the secretaries" to " servants " there shall be substituted the words " to the secretaries (other than any Parliamentary Secretary) and to the officers and servants ".

The Air Force (Constitution) Act, 1917.

In section nine, in subsection (2), for the words from "to the members" to " servants " there shall be substituted the words " to the members of the Air Council (other than the Secretary of State and any Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State) and to the secretaries, officers and servants ".

The Ministry of Health Act, 1919.

In section six, in subsection (1), for the words " one parliamentary secretary " there shall be substituted the words " one or more Parliamentary Secretaries "; and in subsection (2), for the words from " to the secretaries " to " servants " there shall be substituted the words " to the secretaries (other than any Parliamentary Secretary) and to the officers and servants ".

The Ministry of Transport Act, 1919.

In section twenty-five, in subsection (2), for the words from " to the secretaries " to " servants " there shall be substituted the words " to the secretaries (other than any Parliamentary Secretary) and to the officers and servants ".

The Ministers of the Crown Act, 1937.

In section two, for subsection (2) there shall be substituted the following subsection :—

(2)The number of Parliamentary Under-Secretaries in the Treasury to whom salaries may be paid under this Act shall not exceed three.

The Ministry of Supply Act, 1939.

In section one, in subsection (2), for the words " a Parliamentary Secretary " there shall be substituted the words " one or more Parliamentary Secretaries ".

The Education Act, 1944.

In section one, in subsection (3), for the words " a Parliamentary Secretary " there shall be substituted the words " one or more Parliamentary Secretaries ", and for the words " the Parliamentary Secretary " there shall be substituted the words " any Parliamentary Secretary ".

The Ministry of National Insurance Act, 1944.

In section three, in subsection (1), for the words " a parliamentary secretary " there shall be substituted the words " any Parliamentary Secretary "; and in subsection (3), after the word " secretaries " in the second place where it occurs there shall be inserted the words " (other than any Parliamentary Secretary) ".

The Ministry of Fuel and Power Act, 1945.

In section three, in subsection (1), for the words " a Parliamentary Secretary " there shall be substituted the words " one or more Parliamentary Secretaries "; and in subsection (2), for the words " the Parliamentary Secretary " in both places where they occur there shall be substituted the words " any Parliamentary Secretary ".

The Ministerial Salaries Act, 1946.

In section two, for the words from " not exceeding" to the end of the section there shall be substituted the words " not exceeding three thousand pounds a year in the case of the Captain of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms, two thousand two hundred pounds a year in the case of the Captain of the Queen's Bodyguard of the Yeomen of the Guard, and two thousand pounds a year in the case of each of the Lords in Waiting. ".

The Ministry of Defence Act, 1946.

In section three, in subsection (1) for the words " a Parliamentary Secretary " there shall be substituted the words " one or more Parliamentary Secretaries ".
