16Purchase of land
(1)The Board may purchase compulsorily and use for the purposes specified in column (3) of Part I of Schedule 1 to this Act, or for any purpose connected with or ancillary to their undertaking, all or any of the land specified in columns (1) and (2) of that Part.
(2)For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this section or section 17 (Purchase of rights over land) of this Act shall be taken as conferring a power to carry out works.
