Part IThe railway

In the city of Westminster—

  • Work No. 1A A railway (655 metres in length in tunnel) commencing by a junction with the eastbound line of the Jubilee Line of the Company beneath a point 45 metres east of the junction of Park Place with St. James’s Street and terminating by a junction with Work No. 2 at its commencement beneath a point in St. James’s Park 293 metres west of the junction of Horse Guards with Bird Cage Walk and Great George Street;

  • Work No. 1B A railway (520 metres in length in tunnel) commencing by a junction with the westbound line of the Jubilee Line of the Company beneath a point 100 metres east of the said junction of Park Place with St. James’s Street and terminating by a junction with Work No. 1A at its termination and Work No. 2 at its commencement;

In the city of Westminster and in the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark—

  • Work No. 2 A railway (7,770 metres in length in tunnel) commencing by a junction with Works Nos. 1A and 1B at their termination and terminating beneath the river Thames at a point on the boundary between the London boroughs of Southwark and Tower Hamlets 300 metres east of the junction of Silver Walk with Rotherhithe Street, Southwark;

In the London boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Greenwich and Newham—

  • Work No. 3A A railway (4,834 metres in length mainly in tunnel) commencing by a junction with Work No. 2 at its termination and terminating at a point 65 metres north of the junction of Ives Road with Stephenson Street, Newham;

In the London borough of Newham—

  • Work No. 4 A railway (2,960 metres in length) commencing by a junction with Work No. 3A at its termination and terminating at a point 355 metres north of the junction of Kennard Road with Gibbins Road;

  • Work No. 5 A railway (735 metres in length) commencing by a junction with Work No. 4 at a point 175 metres south-east of the junction of Canning Road with Abbey Road and terminating at a point 72 metres south of the junction of Channelsea Road with Burford Road together with a depot for the stabling and maintenance of rolling stock.

Part IIOther works

In the city of Westminster—

  • Work No. 6B A pedestrian subway commencing at the western corner of Parliament Street and Great George Street and terminating at the northern corner of Parliament Street and Bridge Street;

  • Work No. 7 A pedestrian subway commencing on the southern side of Bridge Street and terminating at the western corner of Victoria Embankment and Bridge Street;

  • Work No. 8 A pedestrian subway commencing at the western corner of Victoria Embankment and Bridge Street and terminating on the eastern side of Victoria Embankment;

In the London borough of Southwark—

  • Work No. 9 A road forming an improvement and realignment of Duke Street Hill commencing at a point in that road at its junction with Borough High Street and terminating at a point in Duke Street Hill at its junction with Joiner Street;

  • Work No. 9A (shown on the (No. 2) plans as Work No. 1A) A subway, including escalator subways, commencing by a junction with Work No. 2 beneath a point 48 metres north-west of the junction of Isabella Street with Joan Street and terminating in the British Railways Board’s Waterloo Station (East) at platform level at a point 17 metres north of the junction of Wootton Street with Greet Street;

  • Work No. 9B (shown on the (No. 2) plans as Work No. 1B) A footbridge at the said Board’s station between platforms lettered A and D and passing over the railway between Charing Cross and London Bridge stations;

In the London borough of Newham—

  • Work No. 10 A road forming an improvement and raising of Canning Road commencing at a point in that road 78 metres south of its existing intersection with Abbey Road and terminating by a junction with Abbey Road (Work No. 11) at that existing intersection;

  • Work No. 11 A road forming an improvement and raising of Abbey Road commencing at a point in that road 97 metres west of its existing intersection with Canning Road and terminating at a point in Abbey Road 123 metres east of its said existing intersection;

  • Work No. 12 A cut forming a diversion of the Channelsea River commencing at a point in that river 140 metres east of the junction of Kennard Road with Gibbins Road and terminating at a point in that river 340 metres north of the said road junction;

In the London borough of Lambeth—

  • Work No. 13 A jetty commencing at a point on the east bank of the river Thames at Jubilee Gardens 151 metres north-west of the junction of Chicheley Street with Belvedere Road, extending in a westerly direction into the said river for a distance of 69 metres and there terminating;

In the London borough of Southwark—

  • Work No. 14 A jetty commencing at a point on the west bank of the river Thames at Durands Wharf 208 metres south-east of the junction of Silver Walk with Rotherhithe Street, extending in an easterly direction into the said river for a distance of 120 metres and there terminating.

  • Nos. 1, 1B and 2 Bridge Street (Grade II).

  • Vaults below pavement forming part of Nos. 34-36 Parliament Street (including Nos. 11-12 Bridge Street) and No. 10 Bridge Street (St. Stephen’s Tavern) (Grade II).

  • Nos. 3-9 Bridge Street (Palace Chambers).

  • St. Stephen’s House (Riverside Wing, St. Stephen’s Parade and West Wing).

  • Westminster Station.

  • Warehouse building at rear of No. 15 Southwark Street, adjoining St. Margaret’s Court.

  • Joiner Street, from junction with Tooley Street/Duke Street Hill to a point 50 metres south: public lavatories and part of West and East side street walls.

  • Tooley Street (South Facade) at junction with Stainer Street: arches at north end of Stainer Street.

B. Temporary removal and reinstatement of buildings

  • Horse Guards Road: two lamp-standards (Grade II) outside Storey’s Gate Police Lodge.

  • Cannon Row: four lamp-standards (Nos. 1-4) (Grade II).

  • Victoria Embankment Wall (Grade II) to a point no further than 90 metres north of Westminster Bridge.

  • Victoria Embankment: two lamp-standards (Grade II) one outside and one opposite Norman Shaw (South) Building.

  • Jubilee Gardens: shelters and structures in the centre of the Gardens.

  • St. Thomas Street: area behind Nos. 21-27, and south of No. 28 London Bridge Street: bin-stores and related structures.
