Under section 58(4) of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (1) (“the Act”), the Local Government Boundary Commission for England(2)(“the Commission”) published a report dated March 2017 stating its recommendations for changes to the electoral arrangements for the city of Leeds, which it gave effect to by making the Leeds (Electoral Changes) Order 2017(3) under section 59(1) of the Act.

The Commission is satisfied that a mistake has occurred in the preparation of that Order and that the mistake is such that it can be rectified by a subsequent order under section 59(1) of the Act by virtue of section 14 of the Interpretation Act 1978(4).
