This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 9(7) of the Industrial Organisation and Development Act 19471, and now vested in the Secretary of State2.
The Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform has consulted the organisations appearing to the Secretary of State to be representative of substantial numbers of persons carrying on business in the wool textile industry and the organisations representative of persons employed in that industry appearing to the Secretary of State to be appropriate3.
A draft of this instrument has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament pursuant to section 9(9) of that Act.
Accordingly, the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform makes the following Order:—
Citation, commencement, extent and cessation of charges1

This Order may be cited as the Wool Textile Industry (Export Promotion Levy) (Revocation) Order 2008, shall extend to England and Wales and Scotland, and shall come into force on the day after it is made.

The provisions of Article 6 of the Wool Textile Industry (Export Promotion Levy) Order 19704 shall not impose on any person any charge in respect of any period after 30th September 2008.
