8AVacancy in office: bishop to give directions

This section applies where—

a

an office in a parish is vacant, and

b

no express provision for filling the vacancy is made by or under a Measure or Canon.

The bishop of the diocese in which the parish is situated must give directions for the discharge of the functions of the holder of the office.
