The Archbishops of Canterbury and York, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 6 of Amending Canon No. 34, make the following instrument:

Citation E

1.  This instrument may be cited as Amending Canon No. 34 (Appointed Day No. 1) Instrument 2016.

Appointed day E

2.  Paragraph 3 of Amending Canon No. 34, and the Canon C 30 inserted by it, shall come into force on 16th May 2016 so far as necessary for enabling the House of Bishops to make, amend or revoke Regulations under that Canon.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This instrument brings into force provisions in paragraph 3 of Amending Canon No. 34 that will enable the House of Bishops with effect from 16th May 2016 to make, amend or revoke regulations about diocesan safeguarding advisors and the carrying out of risk assessments.
