Care of Cathedrals (Amendment) Measure 2005 (Appointed Day Instrument 2006)

Whereas the Care of Cathedrals (Amendment) Measure received the Royal Assent on the twenty–fourth day of March 2005

And Whereas by section 20(3) of the said Measure it is provided that the said Measure shall come into force on such day as the Archbishops of Canterbury and York may jointly appoint and that different days may be appointed for different provisions

And Whereas an Instrument dated the second day of June 2005 appointed that certain provisions of the said Measure should come into force on the sixth day of June 2005

And Whereas no other provisions of the said Measure have yet been brought into force

Now therefore WE ROWAN DOUGLAS by Divine Providence Archbishop of Canterbury and JOHN TUCKER MUGABI SENTAMU by Divine Providence Archbishop of York do hereby jointly appoint that the following provisions of the said Measure shall come into force on the seventh day of February 2006:

• Subsection (4)(a) of section 8

• Subsection (1) of section 12

• Section 17 so far as it relates to paragraphs 1–8 and 12 of Schedule 1

• Section 18

• Section 19 so far as it relates to the provisions of Schedule 3 specified below

• Paragraphs 1–8 and 12 of Schedule 1

• Schedule 2

• Sub–paragraphs (b), (e), (g) and (i) of paragraph 4 of Schedule 3

• Paragraph 7 of Schedule 3
