Competence to grant academic awards and distinctions

3.—(1) The University is specified as competent to grant all degrees, diplomas, certificates or other academic awards or distinctions as may be granted in pursuance of section 48(2) and (3) of the Act.
(2) The date specified for the purposes of section 48(2)(a) of the Act is 8th June 2017.
(3) If the name of the University is changed under section 49 of the Act or under any other power, the competence to grant awards and distinctions arising from the specification in paragraph (1) continues to apply to the University as renamed.
