For the purposes of Article 44(1) of the Direct Payments Regulation and the first sub-paragraph of Article 40(1) of the Direct Payments Delegated Regulation, the most relevant part of the cultivation period is the period beginning on 1st May and ending on 30th June in any calendar year.
