When Historic Environment Scotland are in receipt of an application made in accordance with, and accompanied by the information and documents required by, regulation 3 or 4, as the case may be, Historic Environment Scotland must send an acknowledgement of receipt of the application to the applicant.

The acknowledgement sent under paragraph (1) must inform the applicant of the right to appeal to the Scottish Ministers under section 4B of the Act.

Where the application is not made in accordance with and accompanied by the information and documents required by regulation 3 or 4, as the case may be, Historic Environment Scotland must send the applicant a notice identifying the information or documentation which the applicant still requires to submit in order to comply with such regulation.
