The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 21(1) of the Local Electoral Administration (Scotland) Act 2011(1).

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Local Electoral Administration (Scotland) Act 2011 (Commencement) Order 2011 and comes into force on 29th June 2011.

Appointed day

2.  29th June 2011 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Local Electoral Administration (Scotland) Act 2011—

(a)Part 1 (Electoral Management Board for Scotland); and

(b)Part 2 (Electoral Commission: Local Government Elections).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

Sections 20, 21 and 22 of the Local Electoral Administration (Scotland) Act 2011 came into force on 21st April 2011, being the day after the day on which the Bill received Royal Assent. This Order brings into force on 29th June 2011 all other provisions of the Act.
