Coming into force

The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(2) of the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 20001 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (Register of Interests) Amendment Regulations 2010, and come into force on 21st December 2010.

Amendment of the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (Register of Interests) Regulations 20032

The Schedule to the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (Register of Interests) Regulations 20032 is amended in accordance with paragraph (2).

For Table A (councillors’ interests) substitute Table A set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Schedule to the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (Register of Interests) Regulations 2003 (“the principal Regulations”).

A revised code of conduct for councillors (“the councillors’ code”) was approved by the Scottish Parliament on 27th October 2010 and takes effect from the date these Regulations come into force. These Regulations make consequential amendments to Table A of the principal Regulations to reflect the restructuring of the councillors’ code.
