The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 3(1) of the Census Act 1920(1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.
1920 c. 41. Section 3(1) was amended by the Statute Law (Repeals) Act 1973 (c.50), Schedule 1, Part 16, paragraph 1 and the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (c. 18), Schedule 1, paragraph 3(2) and (3). By virtue of section 9(3) of the Census Act 1920, (which was inserted by paragraph 11(b) of Schedule 2 to the Scotland Act 1998 (Consequential Modifications) (No. 2) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/1820)), the Scottish Parliament is substituted for references in that Act to Parliament or either House of Parliament.
