Citation and Interpretation
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Standards in Scotland’s Schools etc. Act 2000 (Commencement No. 8 and Savings) Order 2006.
(2) In this Order “the 1965 Act” means the Teaching Council (Scotland) Act 1965(1).
Appointed day
2. 1st July 2006 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Standards in Scotland’s Schools etc. Act 2000:–
(a)section 49 (Provision of information to Council), in so far as not already in force; and
(b)section 50 (Professional Conduct Committee and Investigating and Disciplinary Sub-committees) for the purpose of the insertion, into the 1965 Act, of—
(i)section 11(1)(ii) and (iii), (2) to (7) and, insofar as not already in force, (9); and
(ii)section 11A(1) and (2).
Savings
3. Where the General Teaching Council for Scotland(2) has received the notification, under section 9B of the 1965 Act, before the day appointed under article 2—
(a)neither the Disciplinary Sub-committee nor the Investigating Sub-committee(3) shall make a direction under section 11A of the 1965 Act; and
(b)the Disciplinary Sub-committee shall not make a direction under section 11(1)(ii) or (iii) of the 1965 Act.
