The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(1) of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Charities (Designated Religious Bodies) (Scotland) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1st July 2005.

Designated Religious Bodies

2.  For the purposes of section 3 of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990, the Scottish Ministers hereby designate the United Free Church of Scotland as a recognised body.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

By this Order, the Scottish Ministers designate for the purposes of section 3 of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990, the United Free Church of Scotland as a recognised body as it appears to them to meet the criteria set out in that section (designated religious bodies).
