SCHEDULE 2INFORMATION TO BE SUBMITTED WITH SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS

SECTION AApplication for warrant to erect a building

1.—(a) General arrangement drawings comprising–

(i)A plan of the foundations of the building, each floor and the roof;

(ii)sections through the building;

(iii)an elevation of each face of the building,

which plan, sections and elevation shall show the relevant particulars and be to such scale if any as the verifier may require;

(b)Block plan to such scale (if any) as the verifier may require which shall show–

(i)the size and position of the building;

(ii)the size and position of any adjoining building as it affects the proposal;

(iii)the boundaries with land in different occupation.

2.  Where the site is not identifiable from the block plan referred to in paragraph 2 of this Schedule, a location plan showing the position of the site.

SECTION BApplication for warrant to extend a building

3.—(1) Plans, sections, elevations, drawings and block plans as set forth in paragraphs 1 and 2 of this Schedule of the extension and of the building so far as affected by the extension;

(2) if required by the verifier one set of plans must be coloured or shaded to the extent necessary to identify new work, materials used, downtakings and any other matters specified by the verifier.

SECTION CApplication for warrant to alter or convert a building or to provide services, fittings and equipment in or in connection with a building

4.—(1) Plans, sections, elevations, drawings and block plans of the building as set forth in paragraphs 1 and 2 of this Schedule but only so far as necessary to show that the proposed alteration, conversion or fixture will comply with the building regulations subject to section 10 of the Act.

(2) If required by the verifier one set of plans must be coloured or shaded to the extent necessary to identify new work, materials used, downtakings and any other matters specified by the verifier.

5.  If required by the verifier, a structural assessment of the existing building.

SECTION DApplication for warrant to demolish a building

6.—(1) Block plan to such scale (if any) as the verifier may require showing–

(a)the size and position of the building proposed to be demolished and its relationship to adjoining buildings; and

(b)the boundaries with land in different occupation.

(2) A statement–

(a)showing by what method the applicant proposes to demolish the building;

(b)providing information on the construction of the building to be demolished.

(3) Particulars appropriate to show that the work involved will be conducted in accordance with regulations 10,13 to 15 of the building regulations(1).

SECTION EApplication for amendment of warrant under section 9(5) or (6) of the Act

7.  Plans, sections, elevations, drawings and block plans of the building as set forth in paragraphs 1 and 2 of this Schedule but only so far as necessary to show the further information required for the proposed amendment.

SECTION FDirections

8.  Plans, specifications, test results and any other information in each case so far as necessary to show the part of an application for which a direction is sought and the relationship of the subject of the direction with the building as a whole.

SECTION GSupplementary information

9.—(1) Any requirement in this Schedule to show a dimension shall be construed as a requirement to show a figured dimension.

(2) Except in so far as the context otherwise requires expressions used in this Schedule and in the building regulations shall have the same meaning in this Schedule as in those regulations.

10.  Nothing in any of the Sections B to E of this Schedule shall require the submission of any particular plan required by that Section in relation to a building if an identical plan is already held by a verifier or a local authority in connection with a prior application for building warrant relating to that building.

11.  Plans submitted along with an application to which these regulations relate shall–

(a)in every case have a unique reference number inserted thereon by the applicant or his duly authorised agent;

(b)in every case be drawn or reproduced in a clear and intelligible manner and in or capable of being reproduced in a permanent form and have indicated thereon the scale (if any) to which it is drawn; and

(c)in relation to plans being submitted by means other than electronic communication–

(i)in the case of the principal and copies be on such material as may be acceptable to the verifier; and

(ii)clearly indicate the proposed work and include a specification or other written or figured statement signed by the applicant or a duly authorised agent as relative to the plan.
