The Designation of Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (Scotland) (No. 2) Regulations 2002

Interpretation

2.—(1) In these Regulations–

“deposited map” means each of the maps which collectively delineate the extent of the nitrate vulnerable zone and which are signed as relative to this Order;

“the 1991 Directive” means Council Directive 91/676/EEC concerning the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources(1);

“nitrate vulnerable zone” means the area of land designated by virtue of regulation 3,

and any expressions used in the 1991 Directive have the same meaning as in that Directive.

(2) Any reference in these Regulations to a numbered Article is to the Article so numbered in the 1991 Directive.
