The Registrar General, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 3(1), 25 and 26 of the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf and with the approval of the Scottish Ministers(2), hereby makes the following Regulations:

(1)

1977 c. 15; section 26 contains a definition of “prescribed” relevant to the exercise of the statutory powers under which these Regulations are made.

(2)

The functions of the Secretary of State under section 25 of the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977 were transferred to the Scottish Ministers by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46).
