The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 46(6)(a) and paragraph 7(3) of Schedule 8 to the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002[1], hereby makes the following Order: 1. This Order may be cited as the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (Amendment of section 46(1) and paragraph 7(2) of Schedule 8) Order 2003 and shall come into operation on the day after the day on which it is made. 2. - (1) Section 46(1) of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002[2] (organisations subject to inspection by the Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland) shall be amended as follows. (2) At the end of paragraph (q) omit "and". (3) After paragraph (r) insert -
(t) Belfast Harbour Commissioners, and (u) Larne Harbour Limited.".

- (1) Paragraph 7(2) of Schedule 8 to the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice) shall be amended as follows.
(d) Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of the National Probation Service in England and Wales.".
(This note is not part of the Order.) This Order adds to the list of organisations set out in section 46(1) of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 ("the 2002 Act") which the Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland is under a duty to inspect. The organisations listed have responsibility for harbours and airport police. Section 46(1) was amended by the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (Amendment of section 46(1)) Order 2002 (S.R. 2002/414). This Order also adds to the list of office holders to whom the Chief Inspector may delegate his functions in paragraph 7(2) of Schedule 8 to the 2002 Act.
