The Swine Fever (Movement Restriction Areas) (Amendment) Order 2000

  Made 12th September 2000 
  Coming into force in accordance with article 1

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 1 and 8 of the Animal Health Act 1981[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, makes the following Order - 

Citation, commencement and extent
     1. This Order may be cited as the Swine Fever (Movement Restriction Areas) (Amendment) Order 2000; it extends to England only, and comes into force at 5.45 p.m. on 12th September 2000.

2. In article 3(1) of the Swine Fever (Movement Restriction Areas) Order 2000[2] for the word "pigs" there shall be substituted the word "animals".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order amends the Swine Fever (Movement Restriction Areas) Order 2000 so as to permit the Minister, or an officer of the local authority acting under the written direction of the Minister, to grant a licence for the movement of animals in a movement restriction area which would otherwise be prohibited.

A regulatory impact assessment has not been made in respect of this Order.
