This Statutory Instrument has been made in consequence of a defect in S.I. 2000/295 and is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of that Statutory Instrument.
Whereas an application for the purpose of establishing an education action zone has been made to the Secretary of State with the consent of the governing bodies of every school listed in Schedule 2 to this Order. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 10(1), 11 and 138(7) of, and paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 to, the School Standards and Framework Act 1998[1], the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order: Citation and commencement 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the North West Shropshire Education Action Zone (No. 2) Order 2000. (2) Articles 1 and 3 of this Order shall come into force on 29th February 2000 and all other articles thereof shall come into force on 3rd April 2000. Interpretation 2. In this Order -
Revocation
(b) either one or two persons appointed by the Secretary of State; and (c) one person appointed by each partner, unless any partner chooses not to make such an appointment.
6.
The Forum may at any time appoint additional members as follows -
(b) up to two teachers from zone schools; (c) up to five head teachers of zone schools; (d) up to three members of community or voluntary organisations within the area served by the zone; (e) up to three members representing religions or religious denominations which participate in education within the area served by the zone.
Disqualification for membership of the Forum
(b) if the bankruptcy order is so annulled, on the date of the annulment.
(3) Where a person is disqualified by reasons of his having made a composition or arrangement with his creditors and he pays his debts in full, the disqualification shall cease on the date on which the payment is completed and in any other case it shall cease on the expiration of three years from the date on which the terms of the deed of composition or arrangement are fulfilled.
(b) within twenty years before his appointment would otherwise have taken effect, he has been convicted as aforesaid and has had passed on him a sentence of imprisonment for a period of more than two and a half years; or (c) he has at any time been convicted as aforesaid and has had passed on him a sentence of imprisonment of not less than five years.
(2) For the purposes of this article there shall be disregarded any conviction by or before a court outside the United Kingdom of an offence in respect of conduct which, if it had taken place in any part of the United Kingdom, would not have constituted an offence under the law in force in that part of the United Kingdom.
(b) in the case of a member appointed pursuant to article 5(c) by a partner who is a company, if the company in question is dissolved; (c) in the case of a member appointed pursuant to article 6, if that member no longer meets the description set out in the paragraph under which he was appointed.

(This note is not part of the Order) This Order establishes the North West Shropshire Education Action Zone, which comprises the schools listed in Schedule 2. The Order also provides (in articles 5 and 6) for the membership of the Education Action Forum for the zone.
