ROAD TRAFFIC

The Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (City of Westminster) (Amendment) Order 1997

  Made 28th May 1997 
  Laid before Parliament 5th June 1997 
  Coming into force 1st July 1997 

Whereas the council of the City of Westminster has applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under section 76 of the Road Traffic Act 1991[1] and the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with section 76(2) of that Act:

     NOW, the Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 76(1) and section 77(6) of Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: - 

Citation and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (City of Westminster) (Amendment) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st July 1997.

Amendment of the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (City of Westminster) Order 1994
    
2.  - (1) The Schedule to the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (City of Westminster) Order 1994[2] shall be amended as follows.

    (2) In Part II of the Schedule (the Whitehall enforcement area excluded from the special parking area) the following item shall be substituted for item 8 - 

         " 8. Buckingham Gate (B323)."

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order amends the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (City of Westminster) Order 1994 so as to exclude the whole of Buckingham Gate SW1 from the special parking area designated by that Order.
