HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND AND WALES

The A650 Trunk Road (Crossflatts Roundabout To Keighley Road Roundabout) (Detrunking) Order 1995

Made 16th August 1995
Coming Into Force 15th September 1995

    The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the A650 Trunk Road (Crossflatts Roundabout to Keighley Road Roundabout) (Detrunking) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 15th September 1995.
        2.    In this Order—
       (i) "classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
       (ii) "the new trunk road" means the new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2(iii) of the North-West of Doncaster-Kendal Trunk Road (Airedale Route-Bingley to Kildwick and Link Road) Order 1982[3] (as varied by the (A650) North-West of Doncaster-Kendal Trunk Road (Airedale Route-Bingley to Kildwick and Link Road Variation) Order 1986[4] and as proposed to be varied by the North-West of Doncaster-Kendal Trunk Road (Airedale Route-Bingley to Kildwick and Link Road) Order 1992 Variation (No 2) Order 1991[5] and the North-West of Doncaster-Kendal Trunk Road (Airedale Route) (Bingley to Cottingley Bar Section and Slip Roads) Order 1991[6]; and
       (iii) "the trunk road" means the North-West of Doncaster-Kendal Trunk road (A650)
        3.    The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the City of Bradford Metropolitan Council that the new trunk roads are open for traffic.
