ROAD TRAFFIC

The Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames) (Amendment) Order 1995

Made 8th March 1995
Laid before Parliament 9th March 1995
Coming into force 31st March 1995

    Whereas the council of the royal borough of Kingston upon Thames has applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under section 76 of the Road Traffic Act 1991[1], and the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with section 76(2) of that Act:
    NOW, the Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 76(1) and section 77(6) of the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames) (Amendment) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 31st March 1995.
    Interpretation
        2.    In this Order—
      "the 1984 Act" means the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[2];

      "the 1991 Act" means the Road Traffic Act 1991;

      "the excluded areas" means the areas in the royal borough of Kingston upon Thames referred to in the Schedule to this Order; and

      "the principal order" means the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames) Order 1994[3].

    Exclusions from special parking area
        3.—(1)  The excluded areas shall cease to form part of the special parking area designated by article 3(1) of the principal order.

        (2)  The modifications of the 1984 and 1991 Acts contained in articles 4 and 5 of the principal order shall cease to have effect in relation to the excluded areas.
    Amendment of Schedule to the principal order
        4.—(1)  The Schedule to the principal order shall be amended as follows.

        (2)  For paragraph 10 there shall be substituted—
            "10.    Haycroft Road between its junction with Hook Road and a point 6.5m west of that junction."


        (3)  For paragraph 13 there shall be substituted—
            "13.    Hook Road—
          (a) (west side) between the southern kerbline of Gladstone Road and a point 8.5m south of the common boundary of 3 and 4 King Edward Drive; and
          (b) (east side) between a point 2.5m south of the northern flank wall of 177 Hook Road and a point 8.5m south of the common boundary of 3 and 4 King Edward Drive, including the circulatory carriageway of Hook roundabout."



        (4)  For paragraph (iv) of paragraph 21(b) there shall be substituted—
        "(iv) (service road fronting 1 to 67 Robin Hood Way) between its junction with Robin Hood Way (A3) and a point 2m north of the southern flank wall of 23 Robin Hood Way."
