CHARITIES

The Charities Act 1992 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1994

Made 27th November 1994

    The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 77(3) and 79(2) of the Charities Act 1992[1], hereby makes the following Order:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Charities Act 1992 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1994.
        2.    Part II of the Charities Act 1992[2] (control of fund-raising for charitable institutions) shall come into force on 1st March 1995, except that for the purposes of exercising the power to make regulations under section 59 or 64 thereof it shall come into force on the day after the day on which this Order is made.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    Article 2 of this Order brings Part II of the Charities Act 1992 into force on 1st March 1995 except that for the purposes of making regulations under that Part the Order brings its provisions into force on the day after the Order is made.



NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDERS

    This Order has been preceded by the Charities Act 1992 (Commencement No. 1 and Transitional Provisions) Order 1992 (S. I. 1992/1900). That order brought into force the provisions of the Charities Act 1992 specified in the Table below on the dates there shown. Not included in that Table are provisions of Part I of and Schedules 1 to 4 to the 1992 Act brought into force by that Order which were repealed, with effect from 1st August 1993, by the Charities Act 1993 (c. 10) (which consolidated the Charitable Trustees Incorporation Act 1872 (c. 24) and, except for certain spent or transitional provisions, the Charities Act 1960 (c. 58) and Part I of the Charities Act 1992).
