NATIONAL LOTTERY

The National Lottery (Licence Fees) Order 1994

Made 28th April 1994
Laid before Parliament 3rd May 1994
Coming into force 24th May 1994

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 7(5) and 60(4) of the National Lottery etc. Act 1993[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation, commencement and interpretation
        1.—(1)  This Order may be cited as the National Lottery (Licence Fees) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 24th May 1994.

        (2)  Any reference in this Order to section 5 or section 6 is a reference to section 5 or section 6 (as the case may be) of the National Lottery etc. Act 1993.
    Fee to be paid on the granting of the licence under section 5
        2.    The fee to be paid on the granting of the licence under section 5 shall be £70,000.
    Fee to be paid on the granting of a licence under section 6
        3.    The fee to be paid on the granting of a licence under section 6 shall be £20,000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order prescribes fees to be paid on the granting of licences under section 5 of the National Lottery etc. Act 1993 (a licence to run the National Lottery) and section 6 of that Act (licences to promote lotteries as part of the National Lottery).
