The Education (School Curriculum and Assessment Authority) (Orders for Transfer of Property and Staff) Order 1993

Made 9th December 1993

    The Secretary of State for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 247(5) and 248(8) of the Education Act 1993[1], hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Education (School Curriculum and Assessment Authority) (Orders for Transfer of Property and Staff) Order 1993.
    Substitution of shorter period for making orders transferring property and staff to School Curriculum and Assessment Authority
        2.    There is substituted for the period specified in sections 247(2) and 248(6) of the Education Act 1993 ("the Act"), being in both sections a period of six months beginning with the day on which section 244 of the Act came into force[2], the period of two months and fifteen days beginning with the day on which section 244 of the Act came into force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order substitutes the period of two months and fifteen days beginning with the day on which section 244 of the Education Act 1993 came into force (1st October 1993) for the period of six months beginning with that day as the period during which orders may be made by the Secretary of State under sections 247(1) and 248(1)(b) of that Act for the transfer of property and staff respectively from the National Curriculum Council and the School Examinations and Assessment Council to the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
