EDUCATION, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Education (Schools Conducted by Education Associations) (Initial Articles of Government) Regulations 1993

Made 8th December 1993
Laid before Parliament 10th December 1993
Coming into force 1st January 1994

    In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 223(3) and (4) and 301(6) of the Education Act 1993[1], the Secretary of State for Education, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:—
    Citation, commencement and interpretation
        1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Schools Conducted by Education Associations) (Initial Articles of Government) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 1st January 1994.

        (2)  In regulations 2 and 3 below, references to the 1993 Act are to the Education Act 1993.
    Initial articles of government
        2.    For the purposes of section 223(3) of the 1993 Act, the initial articles of government for a school conducted by an Education Association shall be as set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.
    Provisions of initial articles of government having effect before transfer date
        3.    In relation to any school in respect of which an order under section 220 of the 1993 Act has been made the following provisions of the initial articles of government shall have effect from the date of the order: Articles 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22, paragraph 2 of Appendix 1 and Appendices 2 and 3.
