EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
Under section 143(2) of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 ("the Act"), the Secretary of State certified with effect from 30th May 1990 a licensing scheme operated by Guild Sound and Vision Limited for the purposes of section 35 of the Act (recordings by educational establishments of broadcasts and cable programmes).
The Secretary of State is required by section 143(5) of the Act to revoke the order certifying the scheme where it ceases to be operated. The Guild Sound and Vision Limited scheme ceased to be operated on 28th September 1990. This Order therefore revokes the earlier Order certifying the scheme.
