FINANCIAL SERVICES

The Financial Services Act 1986 (Investment Advertisements) (Exemptions) Order 1990

Made 10th January 1990
Laid before Parliament 10th January 1990
Coming into force 11th January 1990

    The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 58(3)(a) of the Financial Services Act 1986[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Financial Services Act 1986 (Investment Advertisements) (Exemptions) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 11th January 1990.
        2.    Section 57 of the Financial Services Act 1986 shall not apply in respect of any advertisement issued or caused to be issued by any person for the purpose of enabling any injustice stated by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration in a report under section 10 of the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967[2] to have occurred, to be remedied with respect to the person to whom the advertisement is issued.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order makes provision for the exemption of advertisements of the kind described in article 2, issued for the purpose of remedying injustice stated by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration to have occurred.
