FIRE PRECAUTIONS

The Fire Precautions Act 1971 (Modifications) (Revocation) Regulations 1989

Made 20th January 1989
Laid before Parliament 27th January 1989
Coming into force 1st April 1989

    In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 80(1) and (4) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974[1] , and having consulted such bodies as appear to me to be appropriate, I hereby make the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Fire Precautions Act 1971 (Modifications) (Revocation) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 1st April 1989.
        2.    The Fire Precautions Act 1971 (Modifications) Regulations 1976[2] are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations revoke the Fire Precautions Act 1971 (Modifications) Regulations 1976 with effect from 1st April 1989. On that date the provisions of those Regulations are superseded by modifications made to the Fire Precautions Act 1971 (c. 40) by sections 16 and 18(4) of, and Schedule 1 and paragraph 2 of Schedule 5 to, the Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sport Act 1987 (c. 27), which are brought into force by the Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sport Act 1987 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1989 (S.I. 1989/75).
