Coming into force

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(2) of and paragraph 2(7) of schedule 1 to the Legal Profession and Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 20071 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

In accordance with section 79(3) of that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before, and approved by resolution of, the Scottish Parliament.

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Legal Profession and Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 2007 (Membership of the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission) Amendment Order 2014 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Membership of the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission2

Paragraph 2 of schedule 1 to the Legal Profession and Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 2007 is amended as follows—

a

in sub-paragraph (1)(b), for “11” substitute “8”;

b

in sub-paragraph (3), for “6” substitute “4”;

c

in sub-paragraph (4) for “5” substitute “4”.
