1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) (2021 Act) (Commencement No. 4) Order (Northern Ireland) 2022.
(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2021.
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of the provisions of the Act specified in the Schedule is 1st October 2022.
3. The day appointed for the coming into operation of section 20 of the Act is 6th April 2023.

This Order brings the last remaining provisions of the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2021 into operation. These provisions relate to the prohibition on the sale of alcoholic drinks by way of self-service or vending machine, and restrictions on off-sales drinks promotions in supermarkets and off-sales premises.
This Order also brings into operation a new provision which permits the Department to approve a relevant code of practice produced by persons who have a relevant interest in liquor licensing. A similar provision in relation to registered clubs is also brought into operation by this Order.
The Order further brings into operation, a requirement for a registered club to obtain the consent of a court before making certain alterations to its premises, and prohibits the supply of alcoholic drinks by way of self-service or vending machine by registered clubs.
This Order also brings into operation a new provision which prohibits the operation of schemes that provide for the award and redemption of loyalty or bonus points to members for the purchase of alcoholic drinks in all licensed premises.
