The Edible Crabs (Undersized) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2021

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs(1) makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 127(1) of the Fisheries Act (Northern Ireland) 1966(2).

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Edible Crabs (Undersized) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2021 and comes into operation on 8th January 2022.

(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(3) applies to this Order as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.

Amendment of the Edible Crabs (Undersized) Order (Northern Ireland) 2020

2.—(1) The Edible Crabs (Undersized) Order (Northern Ireland) 2020(4) is amended in accordance with paragraph (2).

(2) In Article 3 for “140” substitute “150”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order increases the minimum landing size of edible (brown) crab to 150 millimetres carapace width.
